The Royal Free Hospital has more corridors and space than Bluewater shopping centre. So it’s no surprise that patients and visitors find it hard to navigate their way around the hospital.
To help patients we are planning to develop the UK’s first iApp for an NHS hospital, which allows them to download a map of the hospital with all the key points on; wards, clinics, main corridors, toilets and catering outlets.
Using technology in this manner will help patients at the hospital and reduce the anxiety of finding their way around a large and complex building.
