Barnet Hospital Charity launch

Wednesday 3 June 2015 saw the official launch of the Barnet Hospital Charity. Volunteers kitted out in the charity’s official purple tops handed out purple balloons, purple cupcakes and wristbands in honour of the new charity. A photo booth was available to give patients, visitors and staff the chance to join in the fun. The charity will provide patients with the little touches that make a big difference and will also fund bigger projects all of which have a huge impact on patient experience at Barnet Hospital.

Last year the Royal Free Charity (RFC) raised more than £15 million for the Royal Free London and the Barnet Hospital Charity has big aspirations.

Chris Burghes, chief executive officer of the RFC, said: “This is a really exciting time for the charity. Our aims are to improve the experience and well-being of patients and staff. Fundraising events and activities will play a key part in our role as well as managing charitable donations.”

Alison Kira, charity development manager, says, “A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to prepare for the launch of the new charity. Today marks the day when we can shout from the rooftops about what we do and why we are here”.
